Vertical Roots Leduc

We are Tess and Colin Pederson new owners/ operators of Vertical Roots Leduc. We have two kids and live southwest of Calmar AB. We met at the local curling rink at a bonspiel 8 years ago. Colin grew up on a small mixed farm operation and grew up making silage every summer in the family business. Tess grew up east of Leduc on family acreage. She went to university at Nova Scotia’s Dalhousie Agricultural campus for environmental horticulture degree and has worked in the local agriculture business for the past 10 years.

Getting to know a lot of the ups and downs of grain farming in Alberta in some very challenging seasons! Together we look forward to this new business venture and providing our community with the freshest hydroponic leafy greens year round! Farming for our future starts with taking it into our own hands to sustainably feed ourselves and our communities.
